Now what? Will the Lost survivors ever get off the island. Do we already know the answer to this? What is the island or who? So many different theories on what the island holds and what it could be. I enjoy reading others thoughts on the show as everyone sees things differently and pick up on something that happens that I possibly missed.

Sure there are lots of fansites for the TV show as millions of people watch it, but I’m one who likes the more homey (?) feeling sites that aren’t the top of the google search. I pretty much can click on it and know by the home page whether or not a site is worth looking at or not. I knew when I found www.tvlost.com that I wanted to read more and see what it’s all about.

I really enjoy watching the show the Colbert Report on Comedy Central. I thought he was great when he was a “news reporter” for the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. I am not sure when he went out on his own, as I was out of touch with this channel for a bit. I love the way he can simply say the most obsurd thing with a lot of conviction. I stumbled across the Colbert Nation site when I went in search of a good fansite for the show. It does appear as though this site either has permission from Comedy Central or they are an extension of the show. The site claims to be the #1 and #2 fansite of the Colbert Report. I believe the #2 site would be the Coloards.com message boards linked to from the front page of Colbert Nation. Here you will find a plethra of posts from fans of the show. I signed up just this morning. I will read a bit before posting, which I believe is pretty good netiquette.

Been stuck on the same blasted puzzle for days? Need help solving those riddles to get the extras? Need strategies to take out the boss? There is a great site I have been using for over 7 years now that can answer any gaming question you can think of on any system. GameFAQs is by far the best place I’ve looked for these answers and more. The very thorough walk-throughs and strategy guides for every game imaginable are very easy to read and generally there is more than one available to read per game. As a registered user, you are also capable of submitting your own walk-through or cheat code, and participating in the discussion boards. They also have the latest screen shots available for upcoming releases and the day you can have the hottest game in your hand.

GameFAQs was started as the Video Game FAQ Archive on November 5, 1995. Hosted on AOL, it originally served as a mirror of Andy Eddy’s FTP FAQ archive. The initial version of the site had approximately 10 pages and 100 FAQs. In 1996, the site moved to its current domain at gamefaqs.com and changed its name to GameFAQs. At this time, GameFAQs listed less than 1000 FAQs and guides and was updated on an irregular basis.  For a more thorough version of GameFAQ’s history you should visit a great article about them on Wikipedia.  The site has been managed by CNET Networks Entertainment since 2003.

While not totally a fansite, it’s a great site that started from humble beginnings.

I found a great fansite for MythBusters at mythbustersfanclub.com which appears to have just about everything a MythBusters fan could imagine. Not a huge fan of the show, but have watched it from time to time and my son really likes it. He then shares all of the myths he saw on there. The site was still interesting enough for me to read through some of the discussions and myths people would like to see them try. Some discussion about myths that couldn’t be actually done on the show. A pretty funny one about the “glowing” suitcase in Pulp Fiction. I found myself reading quite a bit of the stuff on there.

I did not by any means read everything on there nor have I seen all the shows, but something more out of this world would be nice to see, whether it’s aliens or spirits of people who have died. Just to see their take on it (if they haven’t already done it). Personally, I believe there are aliens out there as we certainly can’t be alone here. I also think spirits/ghosts exist amongst us in some way and there is way more to life than being “alive”.

I absolutely love the NBC TV Show Heroes. My family and I sit down to watch this show each time a new episode comes on. I am fanatical about it even.

So, after the last episode, where Nathan grabs Peter and flies up into the sky to the seemingly ultimate demise. My daughter and I had a theory that Peter would be able to resurrect himself, since he had the cheerleader’s power. I went and Googled for fan sites for this show. The first one I found was 9th Wonder’s great site dedicated to the Heroes TV show. I found there a great discussion about the last episode this season, and in it I found a theories that I hadn’t though of. Such as the one saying that Nathan could have dropped Peter just before he exploded and flew off very fast to saftey. So they both could be alive? This is the kinda thinking that makes me love the show and this site even more!

This site has a very lively discussion boards section, where you can mingle and bounce your theories off of 23,000+ other Heroes fans. I love this site, and felt it was a worthy addition to this one. I hope you enjoy the show and this site as much as I have.

There are fan sites for the reality shows where America gets to vote, for all those this would be the Anti-Fansite for them all. The site pulls together voters in hopes of getting the vote out for who the site decrees is the current worst among the group of contestants. It’s funny to read, and just goes to show you that sometimes people that watch reality TV go a bit overboard and live in the show, oblivious to the fact that most of them are set up for high drama, and grabbing the most viewers possible. The site has been around since sometime in 2004. I only recently found it when it hit the news this past season, that included the likes of Sanjaya Malakar, and Antonella Barba. At the time of this writing, they have set their sights on the On the Lot reality show.

The site owners get plenty of hate mails, threats on their lives, but all in all it’s pretty funny to read. I like to watch American Idol, and I also voted for the worst a couple times, because it was fun. I don’t take the show nearly as seriously as people who wrote into their hate mail bag.

Whether you hate them or love the site, it’s certainly popular. It’s kinda like how, in the Howard Stern Private Parts movie, when two of the characters were talking about ratings for the show, and people that hated the show and people that loved the show listened almost the same amount of time. The reason was, to listen to what Howard would say next.

The site offers, a discussion forum, user blogs, and lots of commentary on the happenings in the Reality Television market.

All in all, I’d say they are worth a look, whether you hate or love American Idol.

Over the years our family has bought a few different game systems, Nintendo Game Cube, Sony PlayStation 2, and so on, but we’ve always had a hard time getting a game that all 3 of my kids will play and all enjoy. This Christmas we bought Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2, and we are now a bunch of dancing maniacs! Everyone in my immediate family uses it from my 4 year old son to his 60+ Grandmother. It’s really a workout to go for 30 or so minutes trying to keep up with some of these really fast songs.

This leads me to go in search of other DDR fans. I found a home away from home for DDR fans called DDR Freak. Here at this site they have just about everything you could think of for DDR Fans, such as a locations database (users can submit locations), very busy discussion forum, ddr news, links and discussion of DDR Tournements. And when I say a busy forum,

it’s huge! By my calculations: 59259 topics, which has generated 1789672 posts. With the first user signing up in January 2002. To give some perspective I have a fan site, and in 1 and a half years of operation, that has what I thought was an impressive 49000+ posts.

DDR Freak was started on March 12, 2000 for the benefit of Northern California DDRers to get together and promote DDR around the SF Bay Area. It began when a small group of DDRers gathered at Milpitas Golfland every friday night to play DDR. I’ve never gotten around to getting an Xbox, I don’t know why, too busy to play with more than 1 or 2 game consoles. But I’m not too busy to point users in the direction of a well thought out, busy, friendly fan site. XBox Users Group looks to be one of the better xbox fan sites. I found a few others, but most seem to have moved on or are on free hosts which lack customizations and personality. XBox Users group is also recognized by Xbox.com as an Official Xbox Fan site and Friends of Xbox

From what I could find the XBox Users Group has been around for Xbox owners since December 2001. XUG has attracted over 41,000 members. This is truly a unique website that caters to the Xbox enthusiast. Xbox Users Group provides services for members of the community by providing news, reviews, previews, general articles, forums, and media galleries, and many live offerings as well, because Xbox Users Group has been part of the Xbox.com Community Developer Program and is therefor able to offer Xbox Live Embedded Services to members and guests. All in all, if you’re into XBox, and looking for a home, this is the site for you.

As you may have heard, the Nintendo Wii is rather popular these days. I remember getting my first Nintendo oh so many years ago. I thought jumping on turtles and getting coins was so cool, it’s fun to see just how far these consoles have come. I went in search of a good fansite for Nintendo Wii, and I believe I have found one in WiiLoaded.com.

From their news portal page:

Many websites will lay claim to that statement, but this one looks quite well thought out and I really enjoy reading the posts there. I have registered, but I have yet to post, just lurking til I get used to all the characters there. If you’re in search of a good Wii fansite, to meet new friends, exchange codes, strategies, I highly recommend this one.

I am a 33 year old fan of a cartoon called Avatar - The Last Airbender. I am absolutely hooked on watching the latest and greatest episodes of this quite deep and intriguing show. My daughter has always watched it with me as well, and in the last few episodes of this season, we really started to discuss the show and where it’s going and where it’s been.

So, after the season finale I went in search of a good fan site to see what others thought of the show, of the series as a whole, and to connect with other spirited fans. I found what I think is one of the best. It’s not the #1 voted site, but I think it’s quite a bit more organized and aesthetically pleasing than the #1 site. The site I found was AvatarSpirit.Net (ASN). I highly recommend this site to ANY Avatar fan, you will not be let down.
